The management of Tamar Cruising fully recognises and
is committed to its legal and
moral obligation to ensure, so
far as is reasonably
practicable, the health, safety
and welfare of all its employees
whilst engaged in their work
activities and to the public
using their services.
As a fundamental part of their
commitment to Health and Safety
they have documented,
implemented and are maintaining
a system that encompasses Health
and Safety functions and
complies with the
requirements of the law and
industry best practice.In discharging this duty, the company undertakes to
assess relevant risks and
hazards to prepare, resource and
give effect to such policies and
procedures to ensure the
following:

Safe plant and equipment with safe systems of operation.
§
Safe working environment with safe access and egress.
§
Arrangements for the safe handling, use and storage of
articles and substances that may
be hazardous to health.
§
The provision of safe and competent co-workers.
§
The provision of information, instruction, training and where
appropriate, adequate
supervision
to ensure that work is carried
out safely and without risks to
health.
Tamar Cruising also acknowledges its statutory duty to
carry on its undertaking in such
a way as to ensure the health
and safety of any persons not in
their employment, either on the
company’s premises and crafts or
on any other premises where they
may be affected by their acts or
omissions.
The Partners are
ultimately responsible for any
injury or loss caused by the
acts or omissions of the company
or any of its employees if
carried out within the bounds of
their employment. The company
has taken out insurances to
compensate any person suffering
loss arising from such acts or
omissions in accordance with its
legal and ethical duties.
Tamar Cruising confirms that it will consult with
employees on matters of health
and safety and that it will aim
to reduce the risks of illness,
accidents and incidents arising
from its activities. In addition
they agree to liaise with
enforcing authorities, ensuring
that all incidents, where
appropriate, are reported to the
Health and Safety Executive as
required by the Reporting of
Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous
Occurrence Regulations 1995 in
accordance with statutory
requirements.
As the management of Tamar Cruising have given clear
commitment to the health and
safety or their employees and
others, all employees are
reminded that they have legal
and moral obligations/duties
upon them. These are to work in
ways that ensure the safety of
themselves and others and to
fully
co-operate with their
employer on all
health
and safety matters
and
the company requires that these
duties are observed at all
times.
Tamar Cruising are committed to providing adequate and
appropriate resources to
implement this policy, ensuring
that the necessary finance,
skills and empowerment are
available. Objectives will be
set, measured and reported on at
the annual Management Review
Meeting. The company’s
management and all employees are
committed to ensuring that our
arrangements are effective and
full commitment is given to
making continual improvements to
these arrangements.
This policy is available to interested parties and
will be reviewed periodically.
Audits and monitoring will be
carried out to verify compliance
with the requirements of all
arrangements and procedures.
